When you register online or in the store, you will receive
your starter pack of fabric. There are many to choose from, making your
quilt unique in many ways. I will tell you for your own benefit, I
personally selected what I might have considered one of the "ugliest" combinations. I like to challenge myself that way and everyone who looks
at my quilt is shocked that I used THOSE fabrics because it looks nothing like
what one would envision. And wait until you see the border application I
am working on.
How does it work?
Register online or in the store. Pick up your starter kit which contains
six yards of batiks. You will receive a form to select options for times
for you to attend your custom created time. Each month you attend, you will receive the "sparklers"
(fabric for the center stars) and your patterns and instructions for two
blocks. If you choose to stick around after the presentation, you may cut
out your block with the assistance of one of our instructors.
Will I have to pay more each month?
If you attend the sessions with your previous month's blocks finished, you will
have no additional fees to pick up your next kits (including the
sparklers). If you are receiving this as an online only event, you will
have a $10 per month fee to send your instructions and fabrics for the
sparklers and will receive detailed cutting instructions, including
photographs.
How big is the quilt?
Before I have added the borders to the quilt image that you see in the welcome
statement, my quilt top is 60" square. I have enough fabric to
create another 24 " to the length and width for a pieced border. My
alternate blocks and pieced border are an option for the quilt. Several
of our staff members have created their own versions of using the fabrics to
create their quilts. You will get to see their work as you attend Be
There and journey with us online.
What if I miss a meeting? What if ...what if....what if....
Relax. We have run Be There, Get Your Square for several years. We
have experienced, tornado warnings, snowstorms, challenges of all imagineable
proportion. Trust us. This is a fun event, a grand challenge.
